Deanna is an extraordinary woman who helped my sophomore Jennifer tremendously in Algebra.  We saw results immediately.  The first week she earned a C- instead of an F.  Each week her test grades improved.  She ended the year with an A.  Needless to say, we were thrilled.

Deanna’s help with Jennifer extended beyond the understanding of concepts and how to work a problem to achieve the correct answer.  At the first session she wanted to know what Jenny did understand and what she didn’t, how she approached the problem.  What did she do when she didn’t understand?  She took time to try and ‘be’ where Jennifer was to get a clear picture of how to help her.Deanna was always encouraging.  Never once was Jennifer made to feel stupid or inept.  At all times Deanna made my daughter feel capable.  Each Friday after taking a test Deanna would call Jennifer to see how she fared.

It was amazing to see the change in my daughter’s attitude.  For the first time in her life she did not feel stupid in math.  Her whole demeanor was different, and you could see it in the way she held herself and in the way she spoke.  In fact, at the end of the year when she was choosing classes for this school year, she listed honors classes!

So, it is with great pleasure that I recommend Deanna as your tutor.  How lucky her future students will be to have a tutor that cares about their whole being and not just pushing the facts!
